I model a little bit in HO, so I noticed that Athearn announced Genesis F7s in N&W (same scheme that Intermountain nixed in N):

Lotsa cool roads for the F7s including WM Circus: http://www.athearn.com/newsletter/032621/01_Gen_F-Unit_032621.pdf

Also notable is what appears to be prototypical P&WV caboose (merged to N&W) - I guess Seaboard had cabooses of the same design: http://www.athearn.com/newsletter/032621/02_Gen_ICC_Caboose_032621.pdf

You can see the rest of the March 26 announcements here: http://www.athearn.com/Articles/Hobbywire.aspx

Very nice... the Highliners (Genesis) F unit shell is arguably the most accurate F unit in model railroading. Alot of love went into its development...

Wish N scale had something that even compared!

I have to admit that I am really disappointed with the Athearn SAL caboose that I just purchased a few weeks ago.  Had I seen it in person (rather than ordered on the internet), I likely would have walked away.  The awnings over the windows were poorly installed, crooked, and, in some cases, loose.  I had to replace at least two of the awnings, despite the care I took in handling the caboose.

Worst of all, the lighting package for the SAL caboose is interior only and the marker lights are non-functioning.  This was not advertised as clearly on the caboose that I bought, despite attempts to confirm the lighting package prior to my purchase.  If only the literature for the caboose that I bought had been as clear as this recent literature.  Oh, and that interior lighting?  It just shows off the unfinished interior and the car's metal weight.  :P  So, it's lights off, and I spent too much money for lighting features that don't exist on this model or won't be used.
