Bachmann Acela HHP-8 Decoder Install Query

I'm on a LokSound decoder install kick, well two so far. 

My Acela HHP-8 is really nice and runs well.  The pantographs and associated roof electrics are finely detailed. 

However, the stock decoder is rudimentary to say the least: only CV's 2, 3 & 4 for motor control.  This cries out for the great ESU motor controls.  Sound would be a bonus.

Has anyone done a decoder re-install?

OK, no bites on the HHP-8

How about the Kato GG1?  I've seen a YouTube video of one running with a LokSound decoder.

Also, Digitrax decoder selector says that the SDXN146KE1 fits the GG1.  Anyone have photos or other info on frame mods required?

I had installed an MRC drop in sound decoder some years back but it blew up in 2018.  Now have a TCS K1D4-NC installed.
