Pennsy(?) goodness on Santa Fe rails...

I came across this fabulous photo, taken by Chard Walker, of a westbound Grand Canyon Limited coming out of the Upper Narrows just outside of Victorville, headed for Cajon Pass Summit. Pennsy head end cars were quite at home on Santa Fe’s secondary trains, but I’ve never seen what looks like four three-door Pennsy baggage cars (?) heading to LA. Would any of you resident SPF’s care to enlighten me about these cars? What are they, if indeed they are Pennsy....the resolution is unfortunately not great.
Santa Fe’s 3776 class Northern looks magnificent in this photo, too, her 80” drivers doing the 1.6% east slope unassisted. Wow..

The MTL cars are SP prototype.

Based on the roofs, I'd say B74b.

The ATSF head end car book has a photo on p 117 of a Grand Canyon circa 1954 with several ATSF horse cars headed for Santa Anita.  I wonder if perhaps race horses traveled in a second section of the Grand Canyon.  That would run on a faster schedule than the Fast Mail or #3 and #4. 

Keystone details makes a replacement B74 roof to fit the MTL cars if you want a more Pennsy look.  The MTL cars are also a close substitute for L&N horse cars (although L&N diagrams do not show end doors), and several other roads also had similar 3 door cars.

The only other three door Baggage car (excluding the B70a which had two openings using three doors and end doors) was the B70b which had an unusual small side door on one end from being converted from a Baggage-mail (BM70ka) to a baggage only car:

I do remember the earlier Pennsy horse car thread, I participated in it, but the pics are long gone now...At the time I didn’t think I needed one (or three). Got to look into that again.
Interesting to see these cars traveling in groups, as did the Santa Fe ones in the March ‘54 photo Tom D. mentioned. Obviously racing season coming up...  and my modeling season is set in March/April
