I wanted to add my "That looks great", the colors combo is awesome and only wish I will be able to do scenery that looks that good.
Excellent work

A quick Rivarossi heavyweight set repaint for a friend. I know they aren't correct, he just wanted a heavyweight PRR train and missed out on the MTL releases.

Looks like nicely done set and these cars make a proper train, even if not completely prototypical.  The coach is not far off from a P70, and the 12-1 Pullman is correct for cars assigned to the PRR (in the pre-airconditioned 1920s).  Cars can get some good upgrades with the addition of door steps and other details.  Depending on your era, AC ducts in the roof would be another upgrade, as would American Limited diaphragms.  The baggage, diner, and observation are Santa Fe prototypes.

Thanks Doug,
I got as close as I could without going to the effort of cutting up the number jumble to create individual numbers. The gentleman I painted these for isn't super picky and just wanted a nice looking train to set beside his Broadway. Names on the other hand, I could only match one to the correct car type. I could not find very many of the names on the Microscale sheet on any of the car lists. These decals have been around forever, you would think that at least some of the names would be intended for the Rivarossi cars which have probably been around as long or longer than these decals.

BTW - The car color is Vallejo Gory Red base color spray painted over black base color. The color came out better than I could have hoped for quick rattle can paint job.

Still working toward better prints.   Gettin' close!  My printer has a cracked LCD so I get the odd line where it shouldn't be, but a new one is 'on the way'.

Won a bunch of these old Lineside Models resin kits in an auction and have been putting them together. Experimenting with techniques to improve the looks of the solid windshields.

One technique that I learned here on Railwire is to fill in the windshield with a #2 pencil.  Try it on a bit of resin surface that won't be seen (underside of a car, for instance) if you want a sample without testing it on a finished model.  Here is the thread, several other good ideas discussed as well.

I have a mind like a steel trap...a VERY rusty, old steel trap.
