Taken today - 12 June 2020 - GM27 was built for the Commonwealth Railways here in Australia in 1963 an after several owners is now with Southern Shorthaul Railroad. The ARTC track evaluation train - otherwise known as the AK cars - pauses for the ARTC recording crew to get off the train at Murray Bridge, South Australia.Motive power and loco crew is supplied by Southern Shorthaul Railroad with EMD GM27 upfront and Alco 442s2 trailing.

An Alco and a streamliner, what could be better!... Other than a full lashup of Alco's. Both alive and well in Australia.

Getting used to this Saturday railfanning thing. Though traffic was a bitch for first time in a long time. And I don't believe I'm saying it, I didn't mind it

I took a 'mental health day' and railfanned a bit of the Southern Tier on Friday. Started in Olean NY where the new-to-the-WNY&P GE's were being readied for the day, alongside the 4-axle ALCo's.

...and a few hours later, I captured a meet between stack trains along the Canisteo River.
