Agree 100% Dave  , and cut down brush ends for stirrers IF absolutely necessary to revive pigment.

Sure, and I usually use my arm too (not just wrist - you should see my biceps ), but I have some 30+ year old paints which are still good and which I have not touched for few years. Those need a bit more persuasion than just manual shaking.  And yes, they are still usable after they are mixed (not grainy or lumpy).  For those times, I whip out the power tool!

I know a couple of guys who can't pick up a model paint bottle WITHOUT mixing it.  Just sayin'...

I'm glad you shared the video of using the saber saw and clamp as a shaker.  I'll use the idea on some of the old bottles I've had for a long time.  Don't get the idea that nobody appreciates the suggestion.

Just remember that even though @peteski gets the title of being snarky, we're a bunch of  that are equally snarky and don't mind sharing our own opinions and practices. It doesn't make yours any less valid.

DKS was likely just being snarky. Nothing wrong with electric- or muscle-powered paint shakers/stirrers/mixers.  It's all good.

I appreciate @Scottl showing the technique and encourage anyone to do the same.

My thought is when I want to use my saber saw, I want to plug it in and cut something not have to take a clamp off and re-install the blade that should already be there.
It seemed like a lot of effort for a simple task.

I think the MicroMark stirrer is the perfect tool for what it's intended to do.
I take the cap off any bottle, stick it in, squeeze the trigger, go side to side, up and down for a few seconds and lift it out of the paint while still in the bottle, give it a quick spin to shake the paint off and do my thing.
I don't clean it all that often because it doesn't require it.
Best of all, there is no paint that's collected on the underside of the lid or on the rim of the bottle.

Fair point.  You can probably pick up a spare jig saw at a yard sale for $10 and make a dedicated one.  It seems to be one size fits most except for the pointy Vallejo bottles. Hum . . . . .
