Can I use any "High Temp" tape?

I have a project stuck on my desk because I can't find my Kapton tape.  I probably bought this stuff 15 years ago from one of the DCC suppliers.  Looking at Amazon, I see "High Temp Tape" and wanted to make sure it's the same thing for DCC install purposes.

Is this stuff okay?  Is Kapton just a brand name like Kleenex?

Yes. Polyimide tape is what you're after. The main characteristics we are after is 1) thin; and 2) resistance to cold flow.

That'll work, as long as it's actually made out of polyimide. Stuff works really well with ABS printer beds too...
