BLI N scale E unit truck interchangeability

I'm  trying to get some truck frames from these guys but they're being difficult. Anybody out there who has any BLI of various E (6,7,8,9) units produced in different runs through the years, if you have both an "old" unit and a "New" unit, is there any major differences in the truck assemblies?
Who was that guy who stripped down every new N loco that came out? If he has pictures of the completely disassembled various BLI E units point me to those threads.

I believe the newer ones have a larger opening for the gears on the bottom, but I believe that is about it. Pictures on Spookshow's site are worth more than my words, though.

And for as much as I seem to dislike BLI products, their service was actually pretty decent (slow, but they got the job done and helped me find exactly what I needed). I say just be patient with them and they will probably help you, too.

Thanks, very helpful. The later truck designs are much different from the first one, so I guess if I want a new truck frame I need to buy a whole new truck. Tho the improved version of power pickup may be worth it.

Has anyone here ever put the 2nd run E unit trucks on a 1st run one? Will they work?  They really upgraded the truck for the redesign and I'd like to replace the ones on my early run one. Plus with another truck I can switch out the traction tire axle for a solid wheel one from the replaced truck.
