Odd. I've gotten it to work perfectly for me.

Print from the web is such a pain...

If you're going to do your own, I'd recommend matching the style so that everyone knows what to look out for.

Success!!!

I did not have the time to mess with this before my quick try and previous post this morning, due to an appointment I had to keep.  But, I tried some things now that I am back, and one worked.  I saved the badge to a PDF file and tried to print from that file.

At first, I got the same result.  But, I found that my printer was using "fit to page" and I needed to change it to "actual size" to get it to print as 3" x 4".  When it was not re-scaling for me (and others) when we tried that before, it may have had something to do with printer settings like "fit to page".

So, I will take the "official" version to Springfield.

But, maybe it is still worth some later effort to make a better style for the long term use by members.  For instance, I am not a fan of the "I'm a member of", "On the forum I'm", and "In reality I'm" in tiny print (see note).  And, I would like to see "A forum for modelers" under "The Railwire", like it is on the web page.

But, for a start, while under the gun on the clock, not half bad, Ed.  Thank you.

(Note: that tiny print reminds me of a busty gal I saw long ago at the beach with a tee shirt that said on the left side in tiny print "If you can read this, you are too close!") :D

Hmmm...when I Fit To Page I get the small version.  But when I select Actual I get this weird display and nothing is printed (meaning a "blank" sheet comes out).  It seems like the badge is pinned to the upper left.  Kind of weird that the document registers as 11.7" X 16.6".

Welcome to my own personal hell. lol.

If designing and aligning things on the web can be hard, using the same tools for print is exponentially harder.

I've seen similar behavior in Chrome. But when I tried it in Safari everything was fine.

I might be able to bribe some front end developer friends to take a look for me because I'm quickly getting out of my depth with THIS issue, anyway.

Ah, I thought it was just me.  If you can't solve it by Thursday, no worries.  I'll print the small one for Amherst.  We'll figure it out afterwards.  A v2.0!  :D

Figured it out if you are not using Safari!

Gentleman Ed did me a favor and printed mine out to PDF and e-mailed it to me.  When I opened it I noticed it was in Landscape orientation.  Hmmm, interesting!

So I took the PDF that I made and had "problems" with when selecting "Actual Size" (see a few posts back) but this time I selected Landscape AND Actual Size.  Bingo!  Works and get the 4x3 size.

For for those who are having issues, try Landscape AND Actual Size to get the 4x3 size.

Hmmm . . . I guess that a 4 x 3 badge is a landscape format.  Interesting.

Yeah. Printing from the internet is weird.

I'll try and figure it out but for now I'm glad there's a trick to get it to work.

Well, I did work as intended, at least once.  I walked up to the Northeast NTrak layout in Springfield, turned my badge around to reveal the TRW side, and dangled it above the display in the general direction that Peteski was looking.  He broke a big smile and came right over.  (He had never met me in person, before.)

But, I did not find anybody else at the show who had a TRW badge printed like mine, or anybody else who even noticed mine.  I think I have an Ed K. original, and will ask him to sign it for me if/when I ever meet him in person.  :D

I had mine on me all weekend, as did @dem34
