Question For Photo Shop Owners

Not sure if this is the correct place for this but here goes. I want to create a backdrop from photos I've taken of an urban area. I have photos taken at a number of locations laterally across the area of interest. Now, I need to 'stitch' these together to make a composite backdrop. Does Photo Shop do this or do I need something else?

The Pandora plugin for GIMP also works, and they're both free.

Photoshop is perfect for this task, however, it would be done manually by trimming, copying and pasting, etc.
