Roundhouse for a tight space

Found a pic of the Pensacola & Atlantic (later bought by L&N) roundhouse in Pensacola, FL.
Date of photo is 1926.

What I found unusual was how tight all of this is.  Notice the turntable comes almost all the way up to the doors of the roundhouse.   Very little lead-in track.

Interesting modeling possibilities.

Not only that, but that's probably no more than a 65' turntable, if that.   Great shot.    You'd normally have to go back to Civil War era to find a design that looks that small, with a gallows turntable.

1880s is probably about when this was built.
