Actually saw a neat close coupling method using clipped off Rapido couplers to slot into a trimmed coupler pocket, so Rapido couplers are still useful... if you cut them up anyway.

CR1220 is what I use. Even the cheap ones tend to last me for a few shows worth of all-day running.

Why? Believe they were selling excess, not a fire sale. Someone 5 years ago manufactured 10 years worth of a soon to become redundant, non-salable asset. Seems perfectly clear in my mind.

2- Yes the caboose truck was always sans coupler. They did it that way for a long time. Again, excess stock, I have several cards of them from local unsolds and regardless of their intended use, use them to refurbish non-runners of any kind for that era truck.

3- Again mass hysteria strikes. Out of..? No, current stock use and future proof for 5 years probably; and not overstocked so no need to discount to transfer assets, reduce inventory or save warehouse space.

The insidious speculative conspiracy theories over the most mundane of issues is hilarious.

Eh, its just a tad annoying. But I guess it gave me a reason to go to the Railroad shop.

Though that did mean going to Piscataway. Traffic was heavy due to a stopped multi mile intermodel, and curious me decided it would be good idea to investigate what happened at the crossing a block away. Ouch  :scared:

Yes it is hilarious because it sounds like you didn't go to the warehouse sale because if you did, you would have known how it worked.

2.  You were only allowed to buy ONE pair of trucks for each rolling stock you buy that didn't have them.  No separate sales of trucks alone nor multiple sets of trucks per rolling stock that didn't have them.  So, with that rule in play, why would you only stock caboose trucks or Rapido trucks if you want to move the excess out the door?  I don't know, if it were me, I would make sure that I would have plenty of matching, useful, trucks to go with the rolling stock that didn't have them.  Before you go down the road of "Well, you can buy them anywhere or get a 10 pack of MT's".  The idea is one stop shopping and strike when the iron is hot.  It would be more sellable if the buyer can go home with a complete running car than to have to place a mail order to somewhere when you get home and stare at that non running car(s) until the trucks arrive.

3.  Mass hysteria?  Now THAT is hilarious.  One of the main reason they are doing this is to actually have more warehouse space for the new stuff coming in.  Some of these things have been sitting around for a while.  They just want it gone.  And before you cry conspiracy, again, this came from an Atlas person when a bunch of us asked why are they doing this.

Spookshow:  I understand leaving the field as it is.  It looks too good to mess with.  That's one of the reasons I suggested hand-line irrigation for the corner - if the pipes are in use elsewhere, there's nothing to change, but it would still answer any farm-wise viewers.

The N Scale Roadshow was once again at the Greater Toronto Area Trainshow this weekend. Guest operators from the Montreal Ntrak group as well as the New Jersey Southern Ntrak group came over at various points during the weekend to run some of their models with us. @craigolio1 also made an appearance with his BCR Diner train, and actually made it a few laps around the layout this time :trollface:. It was great catching up with all of you.

@VonRyan trekked up north of the border again, and this year brought a bunch of his British rollingstock as well as a beautiful brass PRR H10 and cabin car. The H10 was quickly pressed into service hauling a local wayfreight, made up of various Canadian cars including a ONR boxcar, TH&B mill gon, CPR slab side hopper and CNR 8 hatch reefer... Now I wonder if real H10s would have ever seen any of these cars in the wild?

I couldn't help myself and just had to bring over my recently completed FP9a and FP7a to snap a few pics with the dome cars. Can't wait for these to be delivered. Thanks Dan for putting up with us!

Yes..  I  went with two BCR units because I have prototype photographs of them at Fort St John in 1978 or 1979.     One of the RS-18s will be in PGE colours.

The GHB brass ITS car should also be back-dated a decade. It came out in '87.
