Yeah, it was, but there is an Ace Hardware building in the way.  There was no other shot.

Don't know how to tell you this, but those trains are not high speed, in fact they're not moving at all.

There's a prototype for everything.
If you can't make it perfect, make it adjustable.
DCC is not plug-n-play.

Nothing like a couple of double ended Geeps on a local.  Best railroading ever.

Catching up on my summer travels.  We went to Scotland in July, and enjoyed hopping around on the various forms of public transit available...

The light rail on Princes Street in Edinburgh.

Departing from Waverly Station in downtown Edinburgh.

One of the long distance trains at Waverly.

Inside the waiting room at Waverly.  They've thoroughly modernized the station, but not at the expense of its original grandeur.

We rode out to Loch Lomond, arriving at Balloch, the end of a long suburban line.  It was the equivalent of catching a train to my little town on the Eastern Shore, something that's been unavailable since the late 1940s

The current station at Balloch is a simple platform with a waiting shed, this is the original station, which appears to have served the line that once went on north from here, up the west shore of Loch Lomond.

A splendid time was had by all!
