Going back to train talk...
Gave my new Scaletrains C39-8 a run on the BSMRRM N Scale layout with a Arnold U25C I fitted a Lokpilot decoder to over the weekend. They encountered some wheelslip pulling 33 cars up the 3% main grade (and the original 39 cars was a non-starter), but both ran well otherwise. Here they are at the Bartlett wye at the top of the layout after completing a lap of the mountain line. This was last night.
I finished building my CMR double-size T-trak module base. Next, I will need to pick up some foam board to top it with, then I can begin laying track and adding scenery. I plan on making a S-transition module with a Kato Unitrak crossing as the centerpiece and dense forest for surroundings.
Besides acquiring the Dash 8, adding DCC to the U-boat, and speed matching those engines, I've started or completed a few more decoder installs.
-TCS CN-GP into Life-Like BL2 (done)
-Loksound Select Direct into Atlas B23-7 (in progress)
-Loksound Select Direct into Walthers RS-2 (in progress)
-Replaced speaker on Life-Like PA-1 with Loksound Micro Select. I accidentally got some paint into it when painting the fuel tank/sound baffle. D'oh!
When I'm done with the RS-2 install I will post an install thread in the DCC section. I don't believe anyone has done this install in a Walthers RS-2, or if they have, they are keeping it a secret. I didn't take any pictures, but I have another untouched RS-2 I can show for comparison when I'm done.
