Four Photos of the BLI Union Pacific 2-8-2 On Nate Goodman's Layout, photos taken by Bob Gilmore with a Google Pixel 2 XL Phone .
Nate's given me permission to describe my technique with this phone. Basically, I make sure that I'm aligning the phone with the camera lens closest to the side of the phone, so I can get down close to the "ground". I find that the electonic zoom makes composing easier, even if it cuts down on the resolution somewhat, then I overexpose it a bit to let the details in the black areas of the engine show up. Nothing done here with Photoshop...just photos straight out of the camera since I'm at Nate's and don't have my PC handy.

Honestly, when I see these, I think "oh, so that's what the Bachmann consol would look like with a trailing truck." Which... is actually pretty decent praise.
If I had a need for one, I wouldn't be complaining.
