NS's 2005 Graniteville SC accident question

I'm in Lynnwood WA this week at a FEMA training and have been given the task of studying NS's 2005 Graniteville SC accident. If anyone has any background on the railroad's signal systems and operations involved in that accident, I'd greatly appreciate your input. I know it was caused by a switch that was not realigned by a switch crew, but am wondering how that line was dispatched then and if there were any preventive measures in place that were nonfunctional or overlooked by the road freight crew.

Thanks in advance,

Bryan

Your not allowed to use cliff notes :)...

 :D

Do you (or anyone) have access to the FRA reports/investigation details?

I think that stuff is public domain..

Oh wow, that actually occurred about 5 mi from my parents house back when I was in elementary school; fortunately it was in Graniteville down in the valley so we didn’t get any of the chlorine gas issues, but still was something we had to worry about! I don’t know any of the specifics on that line (I was always a model railroader more than a railfan), but I do know there’s a book that was written about that accident a couple years later; it might have some information about the line. I’ll see if I can find the title of it

Shoutout to amazon for finding stuff quickly!
