I took some more photos this afternoon; playing around with light angles and such (these are taken inside - the module has it's own lighting and I had another lamp I was moving around to get different shadow angles).  Some of these are better than others, but I'm pretty happy with them considering they're taken with my phone.  I need to get a helicon focus program...... :)
Nate:
Impressed with your hillsides in the background what was your technique? Much better than the usual puffballs...
Kind regards,
Bill

What's with the cardboard?

It's going to be the base for some shotgun houses; once the ground cover is finished around the buildings, you won't see the cardboard anymore.  The module is still a work in progress.  :)

Hoping to get this to paint for the next Weekend Update. I just have a little more finishing on the window frames and then primer to see what needs putty. It will end up being MKT 109 in the green/yellow scheme.

My Wife and I took our 8 yr-old Granddaughter on our annual Amtrak Chicago Christmas visit.  Spfld to Chicago on-time both ways and no loud cell phone talkers on either trip.

Lots of Christmas decorations and great food.  The Italian Village is a must stop since I was a kid.  We had 3 generations there for dinner this year.

Great day at the Museum of Science and Industry (MSI).

Christmas greetings from Wife and Granddaughter and the Pioneer Zephyr.

BNSF sponsors the huge HO layout with lots of Walthers equipment.  Just a small portion below.

The layout covers Chicago to Seattle.

We're already looking forward to next year!
Best regards,

Roger

Sorry late to the party,  worked most of the weekend and today is my day off
so got the backdrop done and misted the far hills to tone them down

sorted some trees

then started adding tress, this is 30 +

then 80 +

then over 160 trees, lost count.  still a few to go and then go for the rails

Many more picture in my gallery.  most trees are hand made with my group using the twisted wire / hemp rope method.  The pine trees were from a wreath string of fake pine branches and cones from Micheals 2 years ago that I took apart and then shake and baked them .

Computer controlled running?  Did you look into what they were using?

A chance to meet other Juneau modelers? This could be cool and or not.
