I came upon a group of Micro-trains troop sleepers and kitchen cars, ect. and I'd like to put together a prototypical train.

I'm modeling New York Central, and I assume I need some normal heavy weight cars to mix in for a consist.

What would I need to add to create a prototypical train?

During World War II the troop sleepers were hated (officers got proper Pullman sleepers).  Some think that the experience put many off the railroads post-war and contributed to the decline in passenger traffic.

Old heavyweights were used in the Korean war - often pulled by steamers as extras.

Fred Kleins's site is a brilliant resource.  A quick google will find you a lot of other information.
