I know what the yen symbol is so price is 30k yen or arond 270 USD

I had google do a little translating and here's the link.

No mention of DCC but it said there is a new current collecting system

Newer Tomix trains like this have couplings that transmit track power through buss wiring, so the train has all-wheel electrical pickup for smoother operation. If your daughter runs this train, you may want to look into larger-radius super-elevated curves...

Any idea if the Tomix shikansen models run on Atlas code 55?

I'm sorry Dave, I'm afraid I can't do that.

Newer Tomix trains like this have couplings that transmit track power through buss wiring, ...

Direct experience found this to be a "beware"-type problem under DCC. Last January we had a club member running his then-new Tomix Shinkansen on our club layout, using the Digitrax "00" DC accommodation. It derailed and got a little sideways, shorting through - IIRC - one wheelset. It wasn't enough to trip the 5A breaker, but enough to heat the interconnection to where it melted the truck and the coupler. Adding a decoder at the motor for true DCC operation wouldn't fix this, either.

If you can manage to keep it on the rails, all's good. If you can't, because of the long connection to track power distributed through the train, expect smoke.

Is this one where an automotive light bulb in the track circuit might help?
