Thanks for the picture, yes I see how you did it. It looks similar to what I am doing but with more metal removal. [ Guests cannot view attachments ]
I am done for today and photo above shows where I got to.
Seems my rear light and pick up is going to work too.
Caps fit in well.
Just now messing with my decoder, for some reason in the tester it won’t run the motor or change light direction.  Am doing a reset and reload with a different sound file to see if it’s the sound file or a damaged decoder.

Update: the decoder is good, must be a dodgy file or download. I can fix that.

Later update: I fixed it.  Either I was uploading it wrong or it was a dodgy download, I know I had interweb issues that day.  So all is good. Phew! .

Looks good! Watch the height of you caps, that place is where the shell has a depression in it.
I did one like that and found out that the shell hit the caps. Yours my be different?

Thanks. I did a dry run by placing the shell on with caps in the location shown and it fits. These caps are only 2mm tall.  Will have to route the wiring carefully though as clearance is indeed limited.
Again thanks the info and support.
I will give a proper separate run down of this install when done for our archive info.
