So many will keep the error car that the replacement will be the car with the collector value!!! Jon
I once had an error car. Went for $470 0n Ebay.
BTW, how do collectors check that the factory air is still inside? How do they check that the jewel case has NEVER EVER been opened? Javier
Oh they have vays to do that. Like dusting for fingerprints on the inside of the lid and on the car, or doing an analysis of the dust particles inside the box, looking for particles which aren't the known ones from the factory.
What I love are the sellers on eBay who make a big deal (hoping to push the bids up) that the car they are selling is "brand new, unopened package" and then show the picture of the car, out of the box, sitting on Unitrack in front of a couple of Bachmann buildings.
You would have to find an extremely rare factory Micro-Trains can of factory air to replenish. I've only seen one can, and my LHS has it on the shelf. Not for sale of course because it is so rare.
