Material for Letterboards, etc...

One project I'm re-starting is BNSF Business Cars (many of which just happen to exist in model form or at least close stand-ins. Ie the business cars- close/exact for at least 3 cars, Super Chief Regal cars-exact,  the Fred Harvey diner + some stand-ins like the #35 CBQ dome car)

One thing they need are logo panels - like letterboards on corrugated stainless cars.

I found this:  http://www.whimsie.com/aluminumsheetmetal.html

Thinking 30 or 36 gauge might work.

This sort of material seems to be what Kato/Kobo used on the Gerald Grinstein #1 model.

Any thoughts?

The 36 gauge size would be about right while being sturdy enough to withstand normal handling...

I don't know what gauge they are, but how about using the aluminum from disposable baking or roasting sheets (like ones used for roasting turkey)?  Those are thin, but sturdy and quite bit thicker than aluminum foil.
. . . 42 . . .

Thanks - will seek out one of those pans (we have a pack of them for rescue kitten litter box training) - and if no-go will try the 36 gauge foil....
