why not just do it in styrene .

Lots of reasons, actually. First, it's tough getting styrene to do exactly what you want. In order to get stuff joined up perfectly like I wanted, it would've involved a LOT of sanding to get things square and joined up properly.

Then there's the entire street running thing where I wanted to use the @RAIL N SCALE rollers.

Happy Holidays and Happy New Year!

When ever I get the chance to see this picture I feel so fortunate that Mike allowed me the honor to donate my Moffat Tunnel East portal to his outstanding layout.

To each and all, Merry Christmas and Happy Holidays.

No pics since the camera on the phone is broke and I didn't bring the real camera but started the day at Tim Horton's and then went to the US Army Transportation Museum on the way home from Norfolk.  Yes, Norfolk Naval Station has a Tim Horton's.  The Museum has a section devoted to Army Rail that includes a MRS-1 and 0-6-0 tank switcher among other interesting items.  It was to bloody cold to spend a lot of time in the outdoor exhibits.
Can't model worth a darn, but can research like an SOB.

I was able to create another tank out of 2″ ABS pipe couplers, styrene, and Clever Models textures…needing some sort of bridge, I took a part of the Walthers ADM grain elevator for a fitting…..
