Does anyone know if the ESU 50210 ECos 2.1 DCC Command Station is compatible with N-Scale NCE and TCS decoders?

From what I understand they work just like Digitrax, but when programming, it won't be able to read it, only send info.

Thanks for your input.

Should I go ahead and purchase an ESU system, I had planned on using a BLI 1020 Address Changer for programming the decoders.

While I don't know any specifics about this, I'm curious as to why the ESU system would not be able to read back CVs from standard (non-sound) decoders on programming track. If the command station and decoders adhere to basic DCC specs then the read-back should not be a problem.

The ESU Ecos DCC Command Station is not the LokProgrammer.  It is a fully compliant command station, and can perform all the same functionality as  Digitrax, NCE, Lenz, etc., stations do.

From the ECoS manual  (sure sounds exactly like my two Digitrax command stations):
18.4.1. Read CVs
Only possible on the programming track.
• Enter the CV number in field a), that you want to read.
• Push the screen button e) „Read CV”
• After a short while the current value will be displayed in field
b).
• If you were not successful „Error” or „No Loco” will be displayed.
„No Loco” means that no loco was found on the programming
track or that the current draw was below 4mA. Check the electrical
contacts.
ECoS tries first to read a CV in Direct Mode. If this does not
work ECoS attempts to read the CV in Paged resp. Register
Mode. This may take up to 30 seconds.

Sounds like I should verify what it will show exactly and get a pic. I must've mistaken the two manuals/devices capabilities. Thank you for the catch, give me a day or two and I'll post it up.
