Programming decoders with an IPad, Can it be done?

I currently use a Digitrax PR3 and JMRI to program decoders (non-sound...so far) with a desktop computer. In the next month or so I'll have the opportunity to buy my wife's Ipad 4 that she currently uses at work. I'd like to buy it strictly for DCC purposes due to portability. Are there programs out there that will work on an Ipad 4 for programming decoders? Also, I've seen modelers use phones as throttles. Could the Ipad be used for this function as well?

From what I read in the PR3 manual, I don't think the Ipad OS will support it.

To my knowledge, no programming apps for the iPad, JMRI or otherwise. No direct connection to the PR3, either, since both the PR3 and iPad are "client" USB devices.

However, there is WiThrottle, a JMRI app that works under iOS. It's an operating program only, but a good one - I use it every day on both iPhones and iPads. The nice thing about JMRI and tablets is you can also turn on the web server in JMRI and access panels from the tablet's browser. The browser access also has throttle capability.

Back in 2011, Digitrax was going to release an iPad app, but after being demoed at the Sacramento NMRA, it seems to have vanished.
