This means I get to redesign all my stuff.  :|

Also a design guide for reducing cost and support material.

Also coming is a "Ready to Paint" finish and being able to control print orientation but no more info on those yet.

Umm, yeah.  Not too happy about this.  I may not be able to offer kits anymore....

As long as they are accepting parts sprues, I should be okay.  It sounds like they will, but I'm waiting to see what it actually is.

I do understand why they are doing this as I have many files with many loose parts some of them very small.  No doubt a lot of extra time was spent making sure it all stayed together.

I am very concerned about the sprues breaking my parts when the consumer removes them.

Then there is the added cost of the added sprue material and wax under it,

THEN every model that gets updated will be subject to re-evaluation for wall thickness, wire size and length, file size might be a factor now too, at least for some of my designs.

Just woke up so I didn't read the link yet, but their e-mail contained like zero information.

Where does it say that small multipart files are no longer being accepted?

I have most of my parts on sprues anyway, but some of them are loose.  As long as the cost won't get jacked up for those scenarios, I don't see an issue.

It doesn't.  What is says is there will be a $1 per part fee, plus the footprint fee for each, plus a wax support fee for each.  I have some kits that have sixteen parts, so that's a $16 dollar hi out of the gate.

I think it is veiled attempt at eliminating multi-part models.

I don't think it's anything sinister. My coupler pocket file has 40 parts in it.  I have no doubt it's costing somebody else with a single part file more money because they have to keep track of my small parts through printing, dewaxing, cleaning and packing.

Obviously I can't expect to sell anything if it's going to cost $40 more so I'll have to redo the file with sprues and hope that will be a viable solution.

But wouldn't most or all of that cost covered by the $2.50 reduction in material fees?

Has anyone got parts from Utah?  I just got my shipping notice for my last order and it's Ogden.

The prices on many of my items actually came down. With a little bit of refinement I could probably bring them down even more!
