Rolling Stock Directories?

Probably a dumb question, but I've been looking for a rolling stock directory in order to get an idea of what sort of rolling stock to collect.  I'm planning eventually on modelling the modern UP and have had no problem finding loco directories, but UP specific rolling stock directories have eluded me.   Anyone have any pointers on this?

Official Railway Equipment Registers (ORER). Train meets featuring rail memorabilia would be the best source for those or EBay.

Issued every quarter I believe.

a directory will only take you so far, First hand observation from the area you want to model will be the best bet...
Certain areas have a preponderance of one specific variety of freight car, (Here in Red Deer its Tank cars and Plastic Pellet hoppers because of the petrochemical industry here)
Check out photos of the area you're interested in...
The Railwire is not your personal army.
