Wish I could come. Should be fun. Funny how our Aussie friends always somehow manage to make it while us "locals" can't find the time

Right? Lots of great guys come from down there.

Hi Gordon.
Trust you all have a good time. Wish I could make it. Haven,t been to one for a while.
Especially with all the good rail-fanning in the area.

Hi Rod, I wish you could make it too, I have got Mal and Steve here now and have filled them up with BBQ. Have two op sessions tomorrow and a hobby store visit here in Houston and a couple of layout visits and op sessions on the way up to Kansas City, plus some prototype sites to see. I am paying it forward after such a wonderful time I had down and the way your group treated me, but you set the standard pretty high will be hard to beat but I will try!!!!!! :D   Sounds like seven Aussie's are coming up for the convention will be great getting to see good friends again, this will be a GREAT convention!. Wonder if anybody will say anything about what is talked about at the Manufacturer's Breakfast. Nobody said anything last year.......or they didn't have one.

I will be on my way from Milwaukee starting tomorrow.  Looking forward to KC.  Always nice to reconnect with those modelers I see only once a year.

They had one. I would have stayed and reported out later but I had a long drive in front of me with a early start.

Gordon,
I believe that Duncan Cabassi was coming, initially going to Jim Younkers ?

Duncan arrived in Vancouver yesterday and Jim (Younkins, BTW) picked him up.  They had arranged to visit Mark Dance's Columbia & Western, then came by to see my layout, and later Brian Morgan's.  All this right after a 14 hour flight!

It was a tremendous pleasure to meet them both!!  We gabbed for a few hours, and ran a few trains.  I wish I could join them - and everyone else - in KC.

I am sorry that I missed the fact that there was little reporting from the Breakfast - although I did post what N Scale Kits were doing.

There will be some new cars available from N Scale Kits next week at Kansas City, and if no-one else reports I will try to do so, although bbussey also of this parish usually does a very good commentary, and I know that he is going!

I understand that there will be other new announcements made too.

I'll be there after our usual surrounding territory exploration leading up to the convention.  We'll be visiting Wichita, Topeka, Lincoln, Omaha, and Des Moines on the way arriving Thursday around auction time!  I understand next year's convention will be in Pittsburgh!

Looking forward to hearing more about this:

Seen on p. 58 of the May/June NSR:

  The advertisers index lists the company as "A New Container Line".   Anyone have the scoop on this?

I wonder what other news will come out of KC and Indy?
  • Scaletrains new loco
  • new releases from N Scale Kits
  • ???
