New Classic Metal Works Paint Schemes

This seems to have mostly gone unnoticed, but Classic Metal Works announced earlier this week their 1954 Ford in a semi-tractor configuration, along with their AeroVan trailers.  The tractor-trailer paint schemes are Yellow Transit Co. and Campbell Express.  Also announced are "blank" AeroVan trailers (dry van and reefer) that are decal ready.

You need to scroll down and click on the "poster" to see the models.  The N scale products are on page 2.

Dang it! Thought for a second (again) that we were getting a Greyhound Scenicruiser in N. Talk about a mandatory purchase if they did do one!

Nice to see the '54 Ford available again.  That being said, I can use the tractors but not the trailers, so probably won't be making a purchase.  Unless the tractors come separate at some point.

I also have little use for the trailers, but buy them anyway, and recycle the wheels.  They work fine under scratchbuilt flats and grain trailers.  For older (in 1974) trailers the reefer units can also be reused.

I don't remember the wheels being worth saving (mine are all packed up) but I like your thinking.  Too bad the '54 tractors don't come with the undec reefer trailers...

Yeah, I agree.  There are better wheels available from Micro-trains, Train-worx or Showcase Miniatures.

Bryan:  True, but for the price of a pair of tractor-trailers, when I needed the tractors anyway, the wheels are cheaper than the fancy ones.  I do trim the axles, so the wheels are only 8 ft wide, but they look fine under my scratchbuilt trailers.  After all, the tractors pulling them don't have fancy wheels either....  I also narrow the wheels on them.
