N Scale 'Dynastack' 40' 5-car consist kit now available

In 2014 FreightCar America landed its first order for its Dynastack five-unit intermodal car. The order was for 50 five-unit, 40-foot well cars for delivery to TTX. The cars feature a lower tare weight than traditional cars by using mechanically fastened truss sides. Reporting marks assigned to the order are in the DTTX series.

These interesting and unusual intermodal cars are now available for the first time in any scale from www.nscalekits.com The cars are in lead free metal with the floor, grabs and external piping in etched metal. Decals for the cars in the TTX paint scheme are included in the kits.

It's interesting to see they went back to rivets instead of welding. Not really what I would have expected in 2014.

Riveted construction allows for fewer (due to weld fatigue) and easier repairs.
