Rapido GMD-1

So I've been waiting for the 1400 series B-B version because, well it's really the only game in my locale in my era, but with the announcement is a wrench... they're doing the 1430-1444 series. These were converted from rebuilt A1A 1600 series units in the late 90's, ten years too late for me. So I ask, why the former 1600 series units? Is there a difference between the original 1400's and the converted 1600's? I'm guess there is but have to ask.

1400 versus 1600 - Is the difference not just the tank size and 2 axle trucks. I presume you read the Rapido Trains web site Master Class. I do admit the GMD-1 history is a bit confusing. I'm still waiting to get my NAR DC unit corrected with the new chassis and correct stacks and missing front decal. I see the 1400 release has been pushed back, darn !

The trucks are the obvious. Just wondering why the 1400 series releases are only the former 1600's and no original 1400's. Fuel tank would make sense.
