First of all, there's the question on when these cars were first made. I thought FGE didn't start getting these cars until 1954. But I've got a photo of one marked 12-52.
But the markings are the real problem. When the stripes were started, when the reporting marks dropped the periods, when the door hardware stopped being painted black. The photo I mentioned had door hardware etc yellow like the car body, but then I saw a pic in RMC of car with a 1955 build date that HAD black hardware.
