Thanks Gary.  That car was totally off my radar.    I would think if someone made the decal, that car would be sufficient.

Ryan, I disagree. That car is a ACF Center Flo and there are a bunch in N scale.

Pete, please put me down for one of those decals when you make them.

Jason beat me to it but my comment stands true that the car isn't made in N scale...  :)
The prototype to the ACF car you posted is from the early 1970s and the Atlas 5800 car I suggested in my original post is a closer stand in...  :)

cheers,

Thank you all for the car identification - I already own that Atlas plastics hopper and have it scanned into my computer to help me in sizing a decal for another graffiti project. I'll also use it for sizing this decal.

@peteski ... by scan, do you mean simply scanned with a flatbed scanner (like those at top of a printer/scanner/copier/fax) machine, Or is this something more involved.
never thought of scanning cars, the idea has piqued my interest. thanks much!

Yes, exactly. That way I have a fairly dimensionally-accurate template of the car's body.  I design the artwork in Corel Draw. It allows for layers in the drawing, so I place the raster image of the scan on the bottom layer and lock it. Then I design or resize the decal artwork over the scan of that car. That allows me to design decals which will be sized correctly without any guessing.

Pete, while I would love to have that in Z,I know there is nothing like that car in Z except for the way overpriced AZL and I don't got none of them.In other words yes N scale is fine.
