Man listening to all these manufactures you get the impression N is dead, thing is they don't try too hard to get the word out so people can order  It would also help if they would tool their N scale cars to ride less than typical Lionel ride height  This kinda crap is irritating.

I responding with something to effect that they may want to adjust their N scale strategy and that if I'm not seeing or hearing about it, how would I know to order it.

Maybe they should adopt Con-cor strategy - taking reservations and selling direct?

Speaking of Con-Cor, are they even really around?  They didn't even have booth at the Springfield shows. I also have not heard any news about their supposedly impressive new sound-equipped U-boat project.  Last few years they kept saying that they had production delays. :|

As far as I know the TLT N Scale Minibox is on indefinite hold.

The Briggs kit was sold to Central Hobbies for distribution.  I am hoping to get there tomorrow and will check to see if there are any left.

I think Con Cor is still around.  IIRC, MBK recently restocked on the backwards diners and other streamline cars that CC has been producing since the 70s (appears the remaining stock is in sale, with one Blue Goose scheme coach still in stock, among others, as I started writing this).  I've never been able to figure out who buys GN prototype cars painted in "Blue Goose" ATSF fantasy scheme when for the same or lesser cost, they could have a Kato Super Chief or El Cap- but they keep making them and must sell them to somebody.  Haven't seem any CC in an actual hobby shop since last time I was in Chicago (almost 5 years), when I think Des Plaines had some on the shelf.

I checked with Central Hobbies today and they have three Minibox kits left, all with the BCR MOW decals.  They are happy to ship to customers in the U.S.

The Briggs kit is a very good option; available now and an attractive alternative to a "planned" RTR model that no doubt will be fine if/when it is actually produced......

If you want/need mini boxes, I'd recommend looking at the Briggs kit.

TLT should concentrate on getting the slab side covered hoppers done in N scale. Four roads for these at the least vs one for the mini-box (CP). American's may not realize this, but CP isn't really a popular road with Canadian modelers, so release that CN didn't own a fleet of would be a risky choice.

CP isn't really a popular road with Canadian modelers?  Really?

You'll have to excuse Mike, he was dropped on his head often as a child.... something about liking CN over CP.....

Mike's right in as much as CN outsells CP about 2:1.... mind you; McDonalds outsells a salad 2:1 but we all know what's good for you and what will kill you.....

I have heard tale that another manufacturer will take up the slab sides one day if TLT doesn't come to the table (not Rapido, trust me!) - I hope that day is coming sooner than later.... oh, it must be; I've only got one Gooderham resin kit to finish.....

Heh, I always figured CP outsells CN, but Pud's in the biz so he'd know. I don't necessarily prefer one over the other, I just lean towards CN for the seemingly endless variety. It's amusing how fast the CP mafia jump to defend the great rodent, lol.

See Pud, that's why I always got along with out late friend Dave... he modeled both, but you knew CN was his girl. Dave was a wise, wise man.

Seems like the mfg that will do the slab side if TLT waits too long is a mystery, eh? Like a shadow... against the prairie? One wonders  :P

Well hurry up and finish that damn kit!!!
I've been wanting slab sides for years.  :x
And I want the CP ones, this coming from someone that models the CV one of CN's step children.  :D :D
