Agreed, but I would probably try to come closer to emulating the piers.  Those are fairly distinctive.

I think those could be done in heavy styrene strip.  I just didn't want to get @davefoxx syndrom trying to scratch the railings.

Rix also sells just the railings, which would mean more scratch-building in an effort to be more accurate. Four 50' sections to a pack... http://www.rixproducts.com/6280103.htm

What he said. Just buy the railings and scratch the rest. It'll be easier and far cheaper.
