I was going to start replying to posts early on saying "wow, great stuff", but then I realized I'd be doing that for almost every post here this weekend.

This place is so inspirational.
Personally, I started adding in replacement ties and doing more ground cover on Windsor St. No pics though, since nothing is really note worthy, but I think I do have a good illustrative photo I can take of my grout technique, so I might go do that this morning.

Ditto Ed. This is the only place I go anymore. No other sites. RAILWIRE is an experience
for asshats and others. For me, some more road striping. backdrop pictures affixed taken in
Downtown Ardmore, made a few scale signs from the web and small styrene posts.

Was sick all weekend, so did nothing in the train room.  The current project is slogging through the rest of the wooden bridges for the Midland Route.  I'm almost done with the smaller of the two curved trestles near the Basalt station, and then it's on to a truss-rod pony Howe truss bridge for the other end of the layout where the passing siding "tail" crosses the main and the branch.

Some Pennsy equipment that I weathered/built for my Bachmann K-4.  Realized after I took the photo that I didn't have the roof snapped down all the way on the baggage car.  The coach is an old Lima coach (Pennsy prototype) that I added steps to.  Need to find the proper 4 wheel trucks for it yet.

There's a new N scale modeller out there today..... he's grown up with N scale; been to countless train shows, been interviewed in local papers about model railroading and has worked a major Canadian train show at a manufacturer's booth.... but today he took brush in hand and weathered his first, of what I hope and expect, will be many, many cars....

Introducing Sam..... Puddy Junior..... My 12 year old son.... and his D &RGW 50' plug door car....

He bought this and a few other cars with his own money at the Ottawa show and today he approached me - he'd found this picture...

... and he wanted to try weathering....

Now, a father's pride aside, I think he did a pretty good job for a first attempt, and with only a little demonstrated help (on another car) from the old man....

Gotta tell ya; this made the day very special..... :D :D :D :D :D :D :D :D :D

Spectacular. Perhaps he can teach me?
