Ok, I'm finally nearing the point where I can take my summer project to the paint booth.  Just a few more details and it will be ready to go.  Since I am a WM guy, what color is the closet match for CNJ Green?

That's very cool! Nice work. As far as I'm concerned, you can paint her pink :D
In the alternative, I'd say maybe Pullman green?
By the way, what mechanism would you put her on, a 44 toner?

Its setup to ride on one of the Bandai Chassis

This was a commissioned project and I was asked to use it.  The truck spacing is a little narrow, but as looking back I wonder if one of the Kato mechanisms might have been better, or if I could have used the mechanical parts from the Bandia chassis and printed a new frame.

The prototype CNJ 1000 was originally black.

The restored version in the B&O museum appears to be Pullman green, so Otto's guess is a good one.  Beautiful work!  Harry

Interesting.  I wonder when it was repainted.  It came on the roster in the 20s, I wonder when it received the statue of liberty herald

There're a few pics here taken around Feb 1950 of her wearing the liberty herald, so sometime before that.  According to "Classic Trains", CNJ adopted the Liberty herald in 1944.

Will you be making this shell available on Shapeways?   Best Regards, Harry

Thanks, interesting link!
So, that settles it, it's "deep sea green", 1947..
Hmm, wonder what the deep sea around Jersey looked like then :D

Like today  --  beautiful oil sheen, tampon inserters ("beach whistles") floating past...

Seriously, the Jersey waters are a lot cleaner now than in the 1950's. Considering the amount of swimming we did then, it's amazing I still have skin...  Harry

Ready for the paint shop!  I also made some revisions to make sure all parts fit correctly, CNJ 1000 is now available in my Shapeways store.

That really is very nice.  All of the additional work you did really makes it a first class model.  It is too bad that there is not a mechanism with a more appropriate wheelbase.

Great job. Looks cool, can hardly wait to see it painted and lettered.
