How do I make the roof

First move would be to contact Wheels of Time and see if you can get a couple roofs to piece together.

Something I did for a roof with a little different profile was to use a router.  I had then hand-notch the end to fit over the doors.



If the right size router was available, maybe you could get something close.

One final option could be to have it printed.  Could probably get it around $12 (plus shipping) with the expectation of sanding it to smooth it out.

I have the outline of the roof profile from the southern modeler site . .thats the proto type .. SOU 1041 ..  I am thinking of getting some balsa and starting from there, making a cutter knife from the profile ..  WOT is a possibility . not sure if they sell parts though ..

I think it was Des Plaines that made a modernized roof in two lengths, but I think they were being discontinued back when I got mine.  They may still have some.  I'd give you the ones I have if I could get to the boxes buried in storage.

So I agree with the WOT suggestion as easy. If that falls through I'd get a stick of basswood (I'm not a big balsa fan) and draw out the curve on the ends. Then you can use a band saw. A scroll saw, a coping saw or even a small block plane to get your curve. Then round over the ends. Not exactly easy-peasy but doable.

If you can't find the right parts, go with balsa.  I know I read an article years ago in one of the model mags where they built these roofs using balsa.

Yup...Bob beat me to it. You'll have to probably use two and splice them because these are for 70 footers.
The vents are separate so you'll not have to sand them off.
