CAUTION: The model that was created is a nude figure. If a translucent resin depiction of a nude figure smaller than the diameter of a human hair is offensive to you, don't click the link.

http://www.cnn.com/2015/04/07/world/worlds-smallest-sculpture-jonty-hurwitz/index.html

Kind of mind blowing how small the figure is, let alone the resolution of the details. Just getting the figure to render at all, let alone getting fingers to render on a model that has to be photographed with an electron microscope is just about incomprehensible. Translating this up to N scale, I'd guess that the resolution being demonstrated is somewhere around being able to control the depth of the tool marks on the screw holding the needle of a gauge in the cab.

Read about these at Imaging Resource.com. Photog with scope actually wound up crushing a lot of the artwork! Oops.

Now I don't feel so bad about launching M/T coupler springs into the ether.

I had that thought to. How do you hunt for something that requires an electron microscope to see?

I usually want to know how I can verify the photos and images.

it will be interesting to use that level of detail to make models.

we will have to be able print in color, or the paint will hide the scale rivets.

Anyone else find it funny that they use a sperm as a scale of size?

You do realize that inside 20 years, someone will apply that technology to produce the first Borg nanobot.

In the meanwhile, it will be fun to have moving eyeballs in N scale people, and working plumbing fixtures for the rest rooms in our passenger stations.
