NEW! Alco Hi-Ad Trucks from Cutting Edge Scale Models
« on: July 04, 2015, 07:27:51 PM »

Cutting Edge Scale Models is proud to present a brand-new product in both N and HO scales; the alco hi-ad (high adhesion) truck. This sideframe style was used on a small number of C415, C420, C425, and C430 locomotives, among others. Used in both freight and passenger service, this truck is truly versatile.

The N scale version (http://shpws.me/IRl5) features accurate geometry with 3-D spring detail and the curves of the prototype. Requires brake cylinders to complete.

The only thing that comes to mind is Detail Associates #8025.

 :?
possibly one late DL-440/T-6 had Hi-Ads ,look for pics of
Mon-Con 400,it may have been built late 67,or early 68.
  Mon-Con C-415 did have Hi-Ads #701,blt about the same
  time frame as #-400.
the last 2 T-6s were finished during 1/69,after the Alco Plant
was officially closed, they had Roller Bearing Type "A" switcher
trucks ,similar to trucks used since the late 30s on all but
  Alco Switchers.NSS  1016,1017.
and 8 or so Baldwin switchers that used Standard Steel "Batz"
  trucks.circa 1939-41.

I think that I will add these to the N scale model, if not HO. These models were designed in HO scale, then modded for N.

How easily will these fit on Atlas C420s ?

I will make these so they are on a standard atlas frame to fit the AAR-B gear case.

Hello,

I just updated the N Scale version of the trucks with brake cylinders and a snap-fit onto atlas N scale AAR-B trucks. They are now available via shapeways: http://shpws.me/ISmc

Atlas compatible is terrific . Are the brake cylinders as flat as they show on your site ?

They are not flat, they need wire to represent the lever and air line.
