NCE starter set help

Please educate me. I have a Power Cab starter set (version 1.65). My friend wants to sell me an older Cab 04p controller (without the screen). He also has a radio version of the Cab04pr (also without the screen).

Question: Will these cabs work with my starter set?

I know the radio cab might have to operate with a cord. Could I buy a repeater and get the radio part to work or will it be a "corded" unit only?

Both will work plugged in. I ru the radio as radio you need a separate panel which can be linked by NCE cable to the of board that your powercab plugs into. The NCE website can guide you through how to set it all up. You shouldn't need a separate booster unless you exceed the 3amp rating for the powercab which would be tough just adding the radio.
