It keeps me awake a night worrying about these things.

I mean, hands up all those that have been duped into buying an N gauge product because they only saw the HO pic.

Hands up all those that have been around in the modelling game long enough to be well aware that this happens with reasonable
frequency and from various 'manufacturers'. Bachmann consistently do it with their Farish range in the UK without caveat.

Seriously is this the best we can come up with?

Well said.

 :)
only the last 8 LI C420s built in 1968 had the Hi-Ads.
the other 22 had standard Type "B" trucks as built.

The printed catalog that was released in January has the correct information and artwork showing the AAR trucks.  The web guy must have just grabbed the HO page and used all of the same information without realizing there was a difference between the scales.

Time for sensitivity training.  And could you please invite the entire Walthers and Athearn teams over when you do this?

Now I'm off to design Alco Hi-Ad Truck Sideframes on Shapeways.. In FXD... for the burgeoning market that exists.

Could you produce a SP&S C415 to go with those trucks?  Better, produce a C415 with separate cab and all three cab variations.

Thanks for that info , I will be sure to keep that in mind should somebody plant , grow , and shake the elusive HiAd tree .
