MT Weathered Monthly Releases

For once the weathered MT releases look interesting, and there is some growing interest here in a few of the previous months' products too.

Those UP cars couldn't be designed to go in a Kato passenger set or show up behind an FEF could they? And the log car with warning tips will look right at home on an Idaho Belt branch line I know.

I ordered one of the MRL boxcars.   I like that it seems to be faded pretty good, and no conspic striping.  I little more graffiti than I would prefer, but I concede that I'll have a handful or two at that level so, it goes on the roster.    Hopefully I'll be able to get one.

The MRL boxcar looks like a pretty good starting point:

Tho it does have the wrong number of ribs, which can't really be fixed.  The sill needs a bit of tweaking, and the body needs to be lowered, and it would benefit from some hand-painted rust effects.

Does the door on these slide open?  It would be cool to do the interior too.

If I remember correctly, the 25000 series does have opening doors.  Will let you know for sure when mine arrives... :)

Yes, the doors open. The only Micro-Trains box car doors that don't open are the plug doors.

it's some sort of fact...

Two scientists create a teleportation ray, and they try it out on a cricket. They put the cricket on one of the two teleportation pads in the room, and they turn the ray on.
The cricket jumps across the room onto the other pad.

This isn't a bad car.  I wonder if @Shipsure can post the artwork before the next release for some input?  The MT weathering is really good, but there are a few things I think (in my opinion) can be done differently to make them even better.

I ordered one from Chuck, since it was close enough for me to the real deal.

I wonder if they have ever tried to make n scale plug doors that open ?
The swing doors on the steel reefer don't open, but they do on larger scales.
