bowed snap switch

I have a atlas switch that when the engine gets to the next section of track it stalls. if I push down on the switch it will go. after looking closely I noticed the switch is bowed slightly upward. I drilled a hole in a tie and spiked it down still a problem . should I solder the joints or run feeder wires to  the dead section?

I would run feeders to the dead spot. It will have the added benefit of supplying power to the track beyond that section, as well, so you should have more stable electrical flow.
