Making Scratch structure parts poll

This is a poll to see if my method for making parts for scratch structures is viable (to see my method, look at any of my Sss threads). I have used it myself many times with great success, but haven't heard from others. Here are some poll questions that should provide answers to whether my methods work for others. Any other comments or suggestions would be appreciated.

Which of these options apply to you? (multiple choice)

I'd have to take a "None of the Above", as I have not had a need for these structures.  (FWIW, I don't mind scratchbuilding and I would try one if I saw something I needed).

Also it would be better if they could be organized into their own (sub) forum, as the many individual threads are spread throughout the namespace in the "Weathering, Detailing, and Scratchbuilding" forum, and make it harder to find *other* threads in that forum.

I agree about a sub-forum Ed. Actually I think there should be a separate scratch building forum, with sub-forums for rolling stock and structures (based on the numerous threads mixed in with weathering and details), but that's not up to me.

For a lot of things, I'll use a band saw and a small table saw.

I didn't vote (I just don't see why this matters to you).  To me the important part is that you design and build your own structures using your methods, and you are also providing the plans for free to the modeling community.  It sounds like you enjoy all the aspects of this (designing, building and sharing).   Why do you care what others do with your designs?  Even if nobody used your plans, you still enjoy what you're doing.

I have no need for your designs at this time. But it is nice to know that they are there if and when I need something like what you designed. I also studied some of your designs (not all of them) and I found them to be educational.

Thanks for nice comments Pete. In the past I have received complaints about printing and cutting out parts. I just thought I could offer some helpful hints if I saw a lot of "problem" votes.

I'm sure it's taking a LOT of time to put together all the instructions for each model, which he doesn't need since he designed the templates.  If no one else is using them, he could just share the templates and let us figure out assembly on our own, freeing a lot of time to design even more templates.

If that is the case then why make this a 10-choice poll?  Just ask: Do you guys use just the templates or the full documentation?  Anyways, it is what it is. I (as usual) just added my 5 cents.

Interesting that you said no one else is using them. The Sss index post is listed on 4 other sites, and is why the view count is near 9,000. From this site, and others, I have received numerous comments stating that the directions and assembly sketches are the best they have ever seen. When I first started doing these in 2007, I had the novice scratch builder in mind. My goal was to produce plans that anyone could build, not just experienced modelers. I appear to have accomplished that goal, but still have received very little feedback on actual production techniques, and is the reason for the poll.

Again, I just wanted to see if helpful hints were needed for problem areas.
