I'm so glad they did that famous CB&Q scheme - Cream and Orange.    :RUEffinKiddingMe:

Lol, at least the colors don't look too bad despite the description.  Hopefully they will match up well with the Intermountain FT's to complete FT-F2 sets.

Those ACL's are tempting! So are the CB&Q, they're gorgeous. Can't justify a purchase though!

Did Kato ever offer a version with larger side number boards or even F7 style ones?

No New York Central?   The NYCS only ever had a pair of A units, but still...................

Unlike a certain road that had a red colored herald with gold lettering, the NYCS is a 'first tier road'.

Were the NYC ones single headlighted? All the F2s they've released have two headlights. I do hope the tooling allows for single headlights, I need a bunch of single headlight F2s.

Yes, the NYCS' were single headlight.   No new cab units by any builder showed up on the property with dual headlights.  NYCS or PC may have bought some dual headlight cab units used somewhere, but I am not aware of that.

Someone could probably tell the story in more detail than I, but there's been a story that Athearn(?) used to paint their HO F-units in the "grayback" scheme with silver paint.  They pulled a sample of the paint from the Q shops, and it was silver out of the can.  Color photos showed the white or cream color though, so a debate raged on until someone figured out that aluminum oxide paint oxidizes when sprayed and goes from silver to white.

So beware of color chips that arn't sprayed exactly the same way as applied to the real units!
