Axle length craziness (FVM wheelsets)

More questions...

So I just got in some of the new FVM wheelsets with resistors.   Chuck didn't have any of the fine-tread 33" wheels for MT, so I settled for one pack of the wide tread to try them out.   I wouldn't normally get wide tread, but I thought "that's okay, these are the same as the ones on my FVM and Wheels-of-time cars that came with Fox Valley wheels."

Except that their not.  The axles are too long.

The WOT cars (50 ft PCF boxcars) actually come with trucks that say 'BLMA' on them.    I thought those were .540 axles.   And the FVM trucks sure look like Micro-trains, although they don't say that on them.  (Knockoffs, I guess.)    The wheelsets were too tight in both of them.  So I thought "Okay, my package was mislabeled, these are the next size up."   But then I put them in a bona-fide MT truck, and they were fine!  And they were loose in an Atlas truck.

So what size are BLMA axles, and/or the ones that FVM and WOT are putting in their ready-to-run cars?

(Okay, I know I can contact three different manufacturers, I'm just thinking somebody might already know.)
