Like Randy I have a bunch of tweezers--probably 5-6, never counted. One pair I got when I was in high school and still use them regularly, although they are kind of blunt and not the best for ultra-small bits. BTW, if the tips crisscross while you're trying to grab something, you're using waaaaaay too much pressure. Fine tweezers are not for bending or gripping; just gentle, delicate holding. I also keep them squeaky clean with regular acetone baths, unless the part is round, when some stickiness is desired.

Small, serrated  needlenose pliers like Xuron 450S.
I use them for grabirons and all sorts of little parts that might go flying out of a pair of tweezers.

I do like the ideas posted in here about rubber tips on tweezers, however.
