Bachmann 55 ton 2-Bay Hopper

I ordered the new Bachmann hopper in PRR and got it today. Wow is this car sweet. Metal low pro wheels, body mount coupler and a really sharp looking cast coal load. And the surprise when I looked in the packaging were three little strips of plastic with rivets in with the rapido couplers.
I slipped an X-acto between the side and the load, pried out the load and there are three little dimples in both sides for the strips. So the car comes with internal braces? I think that's pretty nice of Bachmann to include that detail.

They do look like nice cars, but is it just me or are all of the fonts/artwork wrong?

The Pennsy scheme is wrong ... or rather, unlikely.  Should be the CK scheme, but the PENNSYLVANIA is in the wrong style for the SK scheme as well.   The remaining printing could pass for CK.  I'm going to backdate my Pennsy car to the CK scheme by replacing the upper graphics.

As far as the other three schemes are concerned, they look right but I don't know for certain.

No it can't. Based upon this image provided by Bruce Smith in TKM, no printing is correct on the Bachmann for a PRR GLd.

Oops.  Looks like a full re-lettering is in order.

The Western Maryland is good enough for Guv'mint work. The only glaring omission I can find is the car end reporting marks, they should be the same font as the reporting marks. It seems that it's more common than not that manufacturers just go with a basic font which is wrong.

CDS has dry transfer decals for a PRR GLa... unless you know of another source.

I haven't looked into it yet.  But "homegrown" with an Alps printer always is an option.
