Question About Athearn NACC 50' Box Car...

Does anyone know which railroads used the NACC 50' box car with plug doors, especially from 1968 (when they were first introduced ???) to '71?  Photos would be nice, too.

Thanks for any info. (I've edited this post about 5 times in the past 5 minutes... whew!)


Hmm... and proper decals

The June 1994 Mainline Modeler has an article on the ribside version.  Railroad owners include CNW, D&H, DRGW, FEC, GBW, GTW, MKT, SP and TP&W.

The July 1994 Mainline Model has an article in the smoothside version. Railroad owners include CNW, D&H, DRGW, GTW, MKT, NYC, SLSF, SP and WP. 

Some of these cars were leased so the reporting marks may not have been the railroad's

Thanks for the info, Paul! I'm SO GLAD Southern Pacific had these cars! Now to find the right decals.

use the SP scraps left
over from decaling your
sugar beet cars...
